DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY
This is to certify that the Secretary of the Navy has awarded the
NAVY AND MARINE CORPS COMMENDATION MEDAL
to
Sergeant Molly A. Howe, United States Marine Corps
for
Meritorious service while serving as Career Planner, Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 3, 3d Marine Aircraft Wing, from October 2010 to September 2011. During this period, Sergeant Howe developed a system to better organize the program’s contact records, tracking personnel, and interview requirement notifications, which made the program more effective for the unit’s 590 Marines at four different geographical locations. She personally conducted over 700 interviews, prepared 59 reenlistment and 90 extension of enlistment packages. As a result, the squadron exceeded its retention goals, achieving 124 percent of the First Term reenlistment mission and a 131 percent of the Subsequent Term mission. Her meticulous attention to detail yielded superb results on the Commanding General’s Inspection, with her program receiving a “Mission Capable” assessment with no findings or discrepancies. Sergeant Howe’s achievements were recognized by her selection as the 3d Marine Aircraft Wing Career Planner of the Year. Sergeant Howe’s noteworthy accomplishments, perseverance, and devotion to duty reflected credit upon her and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service.
Given this 17th day of February 2012
