Shameless Self-Promotion: Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2005)

This is to certify that the Secretary of the Navy has awarded the

NAVY AND MARINE CORPS ACHIEVEMENT MEDAL

to

Lance Corporal Molly A. Howe

United States Marine Corps

for

Professional achievement in the superior performance of duties while serving as Operations and Administrative Clerk, G-1 Section, 1st Marine Division in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II from 19 September 2004 to 17 March 2005. During this period, assigned initially with the G-1 Operations Section, Lance Corporal Howe assisted with the daily tracking and reporting of on board personnel strength for the Division’s more than 25,000 Marines, sailors, and soldiers. During Operation Al Fajr, Lance Corporal Howe coordinated more than 1,900 personnel casualty reports. Assuming duties as the G-1’s Administrative Clerk in December, she immediately made a positive impact through her management of the section’s files and directives. As the Awards Clerk, she managed nearly 2,000 personal award submissions and 10,000 Combat Action Ribbons. When the G-1 Chief redeployed, Lance Corporal Howe managed all aspects of the Division’s awards program for nearly three weeks. This period saw more than 500 awards processed flawlessly due to her superb efforts. Lance Corporal Howe’s initiative, professionalism and total devotion to duty reflected credit upon her and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service.
